Monetizing Hate
Brent Regan
Rudyard Kipling’s classic poem “If” begins:
“If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating…
…-you’ll be a Man, my son!”
Imagine you have two individuals. One individual holds critical opinions of a group of people and occasionally expresses those opinions in public. Many disagree with those opinions and some are even offended by them.
The second individual makes it their mission to punish people they don’t agree with. They tell exaggerations, half-truths and lies in an attempt to deny someone their livelihood, to drive them from the public square and to banish them from society.
Now imagine two towns, one populated with mostly the first kind of individual and the other with the second kind. You have a choice to live in one town or the other. Do you chose to live with people who have abrasive opinions or would you rather live in a town where if you say something someone doesn’t like they try to destroy you?
America used to be mostly the first kind of town where free speech meant you would tolerate speech you didn’t like, but in the last twenty years has turned into mostly the second kind where true freedom of speech is dead. An example of this is the perverse obsession freelance writer Daniel Walters has for Dave Reilly, who is also a freelance writer, videographer and former radio talk show host.
Walters pretends to be a journalist. He is not. A journalist investigates and reports the unbiased Who What Where When and Why of a story and allows the reader to form their own opinion. By his own admission, Walters starts with the opinion he wants to advance and then gathers only those pieces of information that support his opinion and ignores those that don’t. He does this for profit. He monetizes hate. He is not alone.
They like to refer to themselves as Social Justice Warriors but their methods have nothing to do with justice because justice requires the impartial and equal treatment of people under the law where the accused can confront their accuser through a system of due process.
People like Walters self-righteously assume the roles of accuser, judge, jury and executioner. Not only will they attack citizens they find offensive, they will attack anyone who criticizes their methods, accusing them of conspiring or agreeing with the accused.
They refuse to accept that someone can defend the RIGHT of someone to say something without agreeing with WHAT they say. The drafters of The Bill of Rights were inspired by Voltaire who put it this way “I wholly disapprove of what you say and will defend to the death your right to say it.”
Immediately after the Boston Massacre the angry crowd was ready and eager to lynch the British soldiers involved. However, one of our Founding Fathers, a leader of the American Revolution and future president, John Adams, answered the call where no other would. Because he believed that justice was essential in a free society he would defend the accused in court. His efforts resulted in their acquittal. Today however, attorneys who defend the “wrong” person are themselves sued, disbarred and possibly incarcerated.
Years ago Dave Reilly made some posts that were critical of the Israeli government. He had apologized and deleted them. When he ran for office as a KCRCC recommended candidate the posts were dredged up and he was accused of being anti-Semitic and a white supremacist. This claim was amplified in the media.
Over my lifetime there has been the occasion where I have met or listened to genuinely bigoted people. A common characteristic is that they are eager to talk about their biases as if they were trying to convince you and themselves of their opinions. So when I began receiving calls on the Reilly matter the first thing I did was to call Reilly to get his side of the story. After a lengthy conversation I was convinced that Reilly was NOT an anti-Semite white supremacist.
I received calls from people expressing concern about Reilly. I would ask them if they had ever met or talked directly to Reilly and they invariably would say no. I then asked them to call Reilly and would give them his number and told them to call me back if, after their conversation with him they were still concerned. Nobody called me back.
I also asked the KCRCC Campaign subcommittee to interview Reilly and offer their assessment. They reached the same conclusion. Furthermore, any member of the KCRCC could have asked for a review of the matter. No one did, not even a certain city councilman who is also a member of the KCRCC who years later claimed the KCRCC “refused” to denounce the “white supremacist” when he could have made that motion himself at any time. He did not.
Nearly half a decade after the alleged offence, Walters dredges up this pig of a story and attempts to put fresh lipstick on it to smear the Idaho Freedom Foundation. IFF’s president, Wayne Hoffman, is Jewish and he interviewed Reilly before putting him under contract to do some videography work. Reilly does not set policy or craft messaging as Walters falsely implies. I believe it is fair to say that Wayne Hoffman’s sensitivity to anti-Semitism is greater than mine so that if he is okay with Reilly, so am I and so should you.
We see freedom of speech, due process and the rule of law collapsing before our eyes. It is imperative that as citizens, we tolerate speech, demand due process and true justice and not fall victim to the shrieks of the self-anointed wannabe judge, jury and executioners. If we fail it is only a matter of time before people will be “disappeared” or loaded into boxcars… and one of those people will be you.
It’s just common sense.

Are Electric Vehicles the Wave of the Future?
In recent months it has become abundantly clear that electric vehicles are no more than rich men’s toys. Sometimes I think I must be having a dream, but I do not seem to be able to awake from this nightmare.
These vehicles are so expensive that only the very rich can afford them. In fact, these are often secondary vehicles. As a vehicle to drive from home to office and back home again, they are reasonably practical.
However, nothing beats a vehicle with an internal combustion engine. You do not have to plug it in, just get in and drive it. Five minutes is enough time to fill the gas tank and check the water and oil. With an electric vehicle you may have to spend two hours every 200 miles charging the battery.
Electric vehicles were tried in the early part of the Twentieth Century, but were abandoned after gasoline driven cars became available. Here is the timeline of the development of electric vehicles. Here is a picture of a woman charging her vehicle about 1912.
One of the reasons these cars did not catch on at the time is that there were many places in America that still had no residential electricity. Another is that these vehicles were fairly low speed, with maximum speed only about 14 Miles Per Hour. Even a horse could beat that (almost). Some of the cars that were actually built were luxury cars with ornate interiors and designs.
Today, electric cars are being built and sold to fight carbon dioxide. This basic goal is simply madness. Carbon dioxide is plant food. You can read more about this in my previous post on carbon dioxide.
One has to wonder if electric vehicles are actually reducing carbon dioxide. In one demonstration when a reporter asked about the power source, he was informed that they just plugged it into a socket on the side of the building.
At the same time there was an official there from the utility company and he pointed out that the local electricity was provided by a coal-fired power plant. So you can see that absolutely nothing was accomplished as the coal-fired power plant was still producing carbon dioxide. (The above cartoon explains the truth of the matter.)
That does not even consider that many of the components of an electric vehicle are produced in places like China, which have few pollution control requirements. Consider that the machinery used to mine the ore is producing carbon dioxide, and then the trucks that haul the ore to the refinery, and then the carbon dioxide produced by the refinery, and finally the factory to build the batteries and such, each stage using electricity. And in China, much of their electricity is produced by coal-fired power plants. And they are building many more coal-fired power plants every week. No CO2 here, but much produced in China.
Some states have stated that they want to be net zero by 2035. They have no idea what they are talking about. To do so would require blanketing much of the country with wind and solar. And what about us? We each produce about two pounds of carbon dioxide every day just by breathing.
One of the reasons that many people do not want electric vehicles is that they are very impractical for longer trips. With a range of about 200 miles on a fully-charged batter, (not in winter, not in summer) few want to wait two hours while the battery is charged. Some are finding that there is no charge station when they need one, or there are not enough units at an installation to provide charge for all that may want it.
If you live in North Idaho, where we live, it gets to over 100 in summer, and minus 20 in winter. Thus, air conditioning must be used in summer, and heater in winter. This reduces trip miles drastically.
These vehicles are really impractical in winter. One family got caught in a blizzard. After a couple of hours, the battery was dead and they would have been dead also if someone had not rescued them. A gasoline driven engine could last several days and keep the heater going, if they were careful not to run it all the time. Electric vehicles are just not practical in winter, or summer.
But supposing that everyone bought one of these vehicles; how much power would that take? Some states have already asked owners not to plug in their vehicles during certain times as there was not enough power on the electrical grid to provide for them.
However, people are beginning to wake up. Some who have bought electric vehicles traded them for gasoline vehicles. And sales are not keeping up. As a result, many dealers find unsold cars stacking up on their car lots. Slow sales has led some factories to cut back production of electric vehicles.
Now there is a push to get electric vehicles all over the world, even in Africa, the poorest continent in the world. Few people in Africa even have the luxury of electricity, and the prime need is clean drinking water.
In an effort to fight carbon dioxide “pollution”, New York bought some electric snow plows. But they just could not stand up to the power needed to push the snow and had to be recharged after only two hours.
Some places have even installed battery powered buses, but found them very impractical, some even taken out of service.
They have suggested that these electric vehicles could be powered by wind and solar, because they do not produce any carbon dioxide. The truth is that when the total project is considered they are not very practical, and do generate a lot of carbon dioxide. Wind, especially has serious problems, especially offshore wind.
People are beginning to realize how impractical are electric vehicles such that many dealers have indicated that their inventory is beyond bounds. Another practicality is that electric vehicles are just not driven as much as are gasoline rigs.
One of the problems with electric vehicles is that they are a disaster whenever there is a regional power outage, from a storm, a fire or a flood. To get away from a hurricane they are often helpless. Whenever the electrical grid goes down, as in a natural disaster, the electric vehicle is simply useless, like a large rock beside the road. The gasoline car can keep going unless it runs out of fuel or enters a flood.
People say that electric vehicles produce no carbon dioxide and thus fight carbon dioxide “pollution”. The truth is that in much of the country most of the electricity is produced from coal, which produces a lot of carbon dioxide. Natural gas (methane) produces some carbon dioxide, and is in some ways more practical than coal, but still even natural gas produces some carbon dioxide. So, the electric vehicles are often being powered by coal-fired power plants.
Electric vehicles are obviously better than horses, but probably not the wave of the future. Outside of being very expensive they have many problems.

CHRISTMAS 2023
Without a doubt Christmas is the happiest time of the year. With every package placed under the tree children look forward to Christmas with greater anticipation. Families and friends look forward to a great meal and fellowship around the table.
People who ordinarily would not listen to anything you might care to share often are willing to listen during the Christmas season.
Christmas is important because it commemorates the birth of Christ, over 2,000 years ago. Here are some reasons for Christmas.
- The birth of Christ was predicted many years before He was born.
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. (Meaning God with us.) (Isaiah 7:14)
- Who He would be and the ministry he would have, were also predicted.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)
- The pregnancy of Mary was notable.
And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (Luke 1:26, 27, 28, 30, 31, 32, 34, 35)
- The birth of Jesus was very humble.
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. (Luke 2:7)
- The announcement to the shepherds was pretty dramatic.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. (Luke 2:8-14)
- The shepherds rushed to find Jesus and the manger.
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
And when they had seen it they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.
And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
- One person recognized that Jesus Christ was born to die and bring salvation.
And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.
And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.
And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,
Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,
Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:
For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people
A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. (Luke 2:25-32)
- God in Christ had to be born a man.
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:5-11)
- Jesus died in my place so that I might live.
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. (1 Peter 2:24)
- Salvation is just a matter of trusting in Christ.
Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. (Acts 16:29-31)
- May you have a blessed Christmas, and if you have never trusted Christ as your personal savior trusting Him now will make this the greatest Christmas ever for you.

6,000 Things Made From Fossil Fuels
Jim Hollingsworth
November 27, 2023
The current drive to eliminate the use of fossil fuels is ill-advised, at least at the present time. This is true for the following reasons:
- When the sun does not shine, or the wind blow, the slack is taken up with fossil fuel generation, mainly coal and natural gas, methane.
- The basic foundation for the need to eliminate fossil fuels is based on the belief that the burning of fossil fuels will eventually burn up the Earth. This is contrary to history, when it has been hotter than today, and the fact that the tiny percentage of carbon dioxide in the air provides for the building of all plants and animals on Earth.
- No one has ever successfully proven that there is a direct link between temperature and carbon dioxide. In fact, carbon dioxide has been much higher in the past, when the Earth produced lots of coal and oil. It is more likely that the temperature of the Earth is controlled by natural causes, such as the changes in weather, and the Sun. Much higher levels of carbon dioxide are permitted on submarines and space craft, so we know carbon dioxide is not harmful.
- Wind and solar are presently a very small percentage of our energy mix. When they become 100 percent (if they ever do) the entire nation will be covered with solar panels and wind turbines. Is that what we really want?
- Electric Cars are not the answer as some states have asked that they not be charged during certain hours; There is not enough power available for more electric vehicles.
- Our country has an abundance of Coal, Oil and Natural gas, and it would be a shame not to use it. These are the products that made America Great.
- You need to understand that there are a number of things made from fossil fuels, especially fertilizer, all plastics, highway asphalt, vinyl siding, roofing and other items. Please see the following list of just part of the over 6,000 things made from fossil fuels. If you eliminate these items. we will be living back in the stone age, our cars will not exist, and our homes will be empty.
- Even your own Department of Energy has listed a number of things made from fossil fuels. Department of Energy: Things made from Fossil Fuels

Dear Friends,
Here are a few articles for your consideration.
Thanks.
Jim Hollingsworth
And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. (Romans 11:6)
U.S. Constitution Amendment XII, Section 3
But in choosing the President, the votes shall be taken by states, the representation from each state having one vote; a quorum for this purpose shall consist of a member or members from two-thirds of the states, and a majority of all the states shall be necessary to a choice. [And if the House of Representatives shall not choose a President whenever the right of choice shall evolve upon them, before the fourth day of March next following, then the Vice President shall act as President, as in the case of the death or other constitutional disability of the President]*(Superseded by section 3 of the Twentieth Amendment.)
- Limit Meat Intake to control Climate: How ridiculous Where is the freedom to choose in that program? We rarely have beef, but this would be an excellent time to increase our intake.
- Trump to Biden: Be Careful of what you wish for As president Trump may charge Biden with multiple crimes
- Chairman of COP28 says there is no science behind effort to phase out fossil fuels There are literally thousands of things made from fossil fuels that we cannot live without. The drive to eliminate fossil fuels is futile. One has insisted that over 6,000 things are made from fossil fuels, primarily oil. Another insists there are over 500,000 things. I was only able to document 1,700, but you get the idea. (See the attached.) It seems foolish to lobby against fossil fuels in a country where much of their income is from oil.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)
U.S. Constitution Amendment XII, Section 2
–The President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates and the votes shall then be counted;–The person having the greatest number of votes for President shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed; and if no person have such majority, then from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President, the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President.
